We've prepared a guide to converting xenon lights on Skoda Fabia I (1999-2007) to much more powerful bi-xenon projectors with our Plug & Play kitwhich is designed to make the whole process as simple as possible and without the need for any adjustments.
Steps for converting headlights to Bi-xenon
1. Preparation
- Check that you have everything needed for the retrofit.
- Read the instructions carefully for a smooth process.
2. Removing the headlights
- To remove the headlight, you must first take off the front bumper.
- Headlights are secured with three screws.
3. Mounting the projector adapter
- Use the fasteners from the package.
- The adapter is placed between the lens and the reflector.
- In the photos below, you can see the correct placement.
4. Removal of the rear headlight cover
5. Removal of the bulb and leveling motor
- Disconnect the cable leading to the bulb by turning it counterclockwise.
- Unscrew the bulb by rotating its holder and remove it.
- Dismantle the levelling motor by turning and pulling downwards.
6. Removal of the projector
- Remove the four nuts holding the projector.
- Remove the lens cover using a flat head screwdriver or pliers. Be careful, plastics crack easily.
7. Installation of the bulb into the new projector
- From the side, insert the bulb into the new holder.
- Ensure that the cutout of the bulb fits into the projector, and secure it by turning. It is recommended to preset the bulb in the holder according to the photo below.
8. Installation of the new projector
- Remove the rubber pads from the old projector except for the bottom one (see photo)
- Attach a new projector via the adapter to the original mounting screws.
- Use new nuts from the pack – on the top part, attach the extended nut (red arrows), and on the bottom part, the self-locking nut (orange arrow).
9. Wiring
- Connect the cable from the package to the projector.
- Cut off the unconnected connector on the cable.
- Connect the cables from the projector to the original wiring for the high beams:
- Connect one cable to the brown wire, the other on yellow wire.
- Polarity doesn't matter, so you can connect the cables from the projector in any way you like
10. Completion
- Connect the starter and the bulb back..
- Test the headlights before attaching the bumper.
- Adjust the headlights on the alignment gauge for proper functionality.
